It might seem that sex assumes a disproportionate place in human affairs; that’s because it does! This is why the Church in her timeless wisdom and profound understanding of the human condition reminds us that ‘either a man governs his passions and finds peace, or he lets himself be dominated by them and becomes unhappy‘. In other words, with sex, there is no happy medium. We are caught in a battle for control between our flesh (where the passions live) and the soul (where our reason and will power live). If you truly want to find peace in this life, the soul MUST win this tough battle which is absolutely worth fighting for the victory spoils are glorious. Chaste living is nothing short of fantastic and should be everyone’s unalienable right.
Just think of the transformation potential if all the powers of life and love that are placed in us (our sexuality) were to be correctly controlled and channelled? I invite every heterosexual and homosexual man and woman in London to discover the multiplicity of benefits out-flowing from chaste living; this city would become a much better place overnight. Instead, we find ourselves drowning in a city subject to the fragmentation, dissipation and disintegration out-flowing from fornication and lust and which we witness all around us on a daily basis. There is nothing more damaging for community than when the powers of life and love placed in us are not used according to the creator God’s wise plan as revealed in the Sixth Commandment.
It is my hope and my prayer that LoveGodBeTransformed will help bring the light of chastity to all those seeking to lead a holy and Godly life so they can truly benefit from seeing God through the eyes of faith. We continue to pray for all those men on the gay scene who are enslaved by the passion of lust and who, in common with all those who are enslaved, can never find peace “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor…. he has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released… that the oppressed will be set free”
